The glove collector

The glove collector, was selected as the major prize winner in "The Spirit of the Outback" art prize Queensland 2007. Judge Brian Dean described the work as
" ...deceptively dead-pan - nine old pairs of gloves stuck on a wall. But the tactile, sensual quality of the painting enables us to almost feel the contact of the worn leather.
The composition is subtle.... allowing alternating patterns
of light and dark to animate the low 'relief' effect
of the objects"
